Separate Tables (1958)

This film stars Burt Lancaster as a man on the edge of being a hopeless drunk, David Niven as an English gentleman who’s made a pretend past for himself, Deborah Kerr as a shy woman dominated by her mother and Wendy Hiller as the owner of the inn where all of these characters abide.  Rita Hayworth, a woman with her own problems, arrives to stir things up.
