Prince Valiant (1954)

Valiant is the son of a viking king and queen who have been driven into exile by a traitor. So, Valiant decides to become a knight for King Arthur in order to be able to take back his father’s throne. He finds another villain in Camelot in the person of the mysterious Black Knight. It isnt long before he realizes the culprit is someone from inside the palace, who has a long range plan.  It also isnt long before Valiant has another complication; his falling in love with a beautiful princess (Janet Leigh). Robert Wagner stars as the title character in this exciting adventure film.

How to Train Your Dragon; The Hidden Kingdom (2019)

Viking Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and his dragon Toothless have grown a lot together and their mission to save other dragons has made their home a haven for hundreds of them. Unfortunately it has also become a target for other mercenaries, as well as one that has his own agenda.  Hiccup realizes that it’s time for them to leave and find somewhere safe for the dragons. It soon becomes apparent that the solution might not be as simple as they thought, in this final chapter in the saga.

Young Highland Princess Merida is anything but ready for the impending political marriage arranged by her mother the queen.  Feeling that her mother can’t understand her situation, Merida decides to enlist the help of a witch to “change her fate” by changing her mother.  This sets off a chain of events that causes Merida to consider whether it is only her mother that must change.

Sleeping Beauty (1959)

Based on the classic fairytale and set to the stunning music of Tchaikovsky, this animated feature tells the story of an innocent princess and the vengeful fairy who curses her to an eternal sleep, that can only be broken by ‘true loves kiss’.

This epic film took an unheard of (at the time) 6 years and 6 million dollars to make, but was well worth it.

Ladyhawke (1985)

Set in 14th Century Europe, this fairytale focuses on the star-crossed lovers Navarre (Rutger Hauer) and Isabeau (Michelle Pfeiffer) who are cursed by the insanely jealous Bishop to be ‘always together, eternally apart’; Navarre is a wolf by night and Isabeau a hawk by day.

On their travels they meet the thief Philippe ‘The Mouse’ (Mathew Broderick), that comes up with the scheme to break the spell and unite the two.
